Body For Mind

FAQs

Does my child need any previous dance experience?

No previous dance experience is needed. Our classes are welcoming and supportive, making them a great place for beginners to start. With clear, professional teaching and plenty of encouragement, children can develop their skills and confidence at a pace that suits them.

What should my child wear to class?

Children are expected to wear appropriate clothing for dance that allows them to move freely while feeling comfortable and confident. Our Sunshine Steps T-shirt is part of the class uniform and is compulsory for all students. T-shirts can be purchased when booking your child’s class.

Black non-branded leggings, dance trousers/flares, shorts or skirts are permitted and can be bought from a shop of your choice, provided they meet our uniform guidelines.

All uniform guidance/inspiration can be found here .

Does a parent need to stay during the class?

No. Apart from our specifically designated parent-accompanied classes, all of our classes are drop-off classes. Parents are welcome to wait in the Green Room next door, relax on the veranda, or enjoy a stroll around the lakes while your child is dancing.

What happens if my child is shy or doesn’t want to join in?

We understand that confidence can take time to build, especially in a new environment. Children are never forced to participate, and we encourage them gently as they become comfortable.

In classes for children up to 5 years old, parents are welcome to sit in the class and quietly encourage if their child needs extra time to settle in.

What happens if my child misses a class?

If your child is unable to attend their usual class, they are welcome to join another suitable class within the same week, subject to availability.

Can my child try a class before committing?

Yes. For children under 5, we offer one free trial class.

For our 6+ classes, we offer a two-week trial, giving your child plenty of time to settle in, get to know their teacher and experience the class before joining.
